Helen Moorcroft - Staff Governor
My name is Helen Moorcroft and I became the Headteacher at Bredbury Green primary in September 2019. Initially this was a secondment for a year but now it is a permanent position. Previously I was part of the leadership team at Gatley Primary School, the founding school in the Education Learning Trust. I have enjoyed my time at Bredbury Green and am passionate about improving the school and making it an outstanding place in which our learners will grow.
During my career, I have taught various age groups from Year 1 to Year 6, this has given me a breadth of experience and allowed me to understand the challenges and rewards of teaching children of different ages. My subject passions are maths, history and PE. Working with Northwest One (Maths Hub) I became a Primary Mastery Specialist in September 2016 and led teacher research groups and other work groups. I am also a Specialist Leader in Education for mathematics. In my outward facing role, I supported several schools in Stockport and other local authorities to develop the teaching and learning of mathematics in their schools.
Outside of school, my main hobbies revolve around sport. I have played tennis and badminton for many years representing my clubs in the North East Cheshire and Stockport leagues. The other sporting hobby I have is supporting my club Manchester United where I am a season ticket holder. I also enjoy walking my dog Max in the Peak District near my home.
